Maintenance and care of vinyl and Raw wallpapers

Ordinary maintenance instructions

Before wallpapers are cleaned, the type of material must be identified. Modern vinyl wallpapers can be cleaned with a few simple routine cleaning measures. In general, wallpapers do not require any special maintenance in terms of cleaning.

How to clean vinyl/Raw wallpapers

Vinyl wallpaper and Raw wallpaper are washable with mild soap and water. Use a soft (non-abrasive) damp cloth, preferably not soaked in water, to clean the surface as needed.

How to remove accidental stains on wallpaper

It is important to remove the stain quickly with a soft, damp cloth to prevent the substances from being absorbed by the wallpaper. In case of a deep and consistent stain, please contact Inkiostro Bianco Customer Care by writing to info@inkiostrobianco.com and you will be put in touch with one of our technicians.

What to do if wallpaper comes off

If the wallpaper comes off in the joints or corners, it is possible to restore the adherence of the material to the surface by using a vinyl wallpaper paste, taking care not to apply too much in order to avoid spills.

What to do if air bubbles have formed under the wallpaper

In case of bubbles on the surface, intervene by syringing the bubble with traditional upholstery glue and taking care to adhere the material with light pressure in the affected area using a soft cloth or spatula. Any adhesive spillage should be removed promptly.

What to do if you get tired of your wallpaper

if you have grown tired of your wallpaper and want to replace it with another decor, simply remove the previously laid wallpaper and apply the new decor on the surface without any special preparation. Inkiostro Bianco wallpapers with non-woven backing are easily removable and easy to install.

If you have grown tired of the wallpaper covering and are considering another wallcovering from among the Inkiostro Bianco wallpapers or other materials, you will need to remove the entire backing and proceed to install the desired material. Inkiostro Bianco wallpapers with a non-woven (non-woven fabric) backing are easy to remove without damaging the wall substrate.

Maintenance and care of EQ.dekor fiber glass wallpapers

How to clean fiberglass wall and/or floor wallpaper

Our EQ.dekor fiber glass wallpapers are water-resistant and can be cleaned with water and normal household cleaning agents (not acidic or corrosive). We recommend the use of a soft, non-abrasive cloth.

How to remove accidental stains on fiberglass

For use in both bathrooms and kitchens, it is advisable to remove the stain quickly to prevent the substance from settling for a long time and being absorbed.
In case of deeply absorbed stains it is advisable to contact Inkiostro Bianco Customer Care by writing to info@inkiostrobianco.com

How to remove limescale residues on the fiberglass in the shower or bathroom

Limescale deposited inside the shower or other areas of the bathroom can be removed using a common limescale remover. Apply the product to the affected areas and leave to work for the specified time, then clean the surface with a non-abrasive cloth or sponge.
The use of products containing ammonia is not recommended.

What to do if the floor finish protective wears off

Finish 58W, applied as a protective finish on surfaces and on the floor, can be easily restored in case of wear on the floor. The Finish 58W is applied by roller coater, covering the entire surface including the previously cleaned worn area without any residual dust or impurities that could solidify with the product and be visible when the treatment is finished. Before proceeding, we recommend contacting our customer care for further analysis and technical support.
To order Finish 58W please contact your sales representative or Inkiostro Bianco Customer Care by writing to info@inkiostrobianco.com

What to do if you get tired of your EQ.dekor fiberglass wallpaper

If you are getting tired of your wallpaper and want to replace it with another EQ.dekor fiber glass wallpaper, you don’t have to worry as the EQ.dekor fiber glass wallpaper due to its minimal thickness (7/10 of a mm) will be the best substrate that can accommodate a new decor without requiring removal. It will be sufficient to paint the surface with a water-based enamel, in a medium grey colour or according to the nuances of the new décor, to even out the colour of the wall. It will then be possible to proceed with the installation of a new fiber glass decoration.

If you are getting tired of the EQ.dekor fiber glass covering and are considering another covering from among those of Inkiostro Bianco or other materials on the market, it will not be necessary to remove the covering as the EQ.dekor fiber glass due to its minimum thickness (7/10 of a mm) will not affect the total thickness of the new wallcovering, it will be the best substrate that can accommodate a new finish on e.g. tiles or other common decorative coverings.
In case of installation of special materials, for a more in-depth analysis we recommend contacting Inkiostro Bianco Customer Care by writing to info@inkiostrobianco.com

Maintenance and care of lineadeko birch wood wallcovering

Routine maintenance instructions

Lineadeko birch plywood panels are intended exclusively for wallcovering purposes. lineadeko wallcovering may not be laid on the floor.

How to clean birch wood panels

Do not use tap water alone to wash the decorated birch wood wallcovering: in addition to not performing an effective cleaning action, the mineral residues contained could settle on the surface, altering its shine.

Never use liquids containing significant acidic or basic concentrations, such as ammonia and bleach, which, due to their aggressiveness, can create indelible stains on the wood.

For proper cleaning and maintenance, only use natural detergents intended for the specific finish of wood coverings using a soft, well wrung out cloth.

Maintenance and care of Undici decorated oak parquet

Routine maintenance instructions

Wood is a “living” material that interacts with its environment and undergoes transformations due to external factors such as sunlight, temperature, air humidity and use. It is therefore recommended to follow the maintenance and care instructions recommended by the manufacturer of the raw material (Listone Giordano®).

Warnings and general care advice

Maintain a relative air humidity in the room between 45% and 65% and an air temperature between 15 and 30°C. This range corresponds to the most comfortable conditions not only for parquet, but also for human beings. In order to comply with the conditions prescribed above, it may be necessary to use humidification/dehumidification systems. Failure to comply with the conditions prescribed above may lead to deformations, cracks and, in some cases, even permanent damage to the floor.

Protect the feet of furniture, chairs, etc. with suitable felt pads. Any chairs must be fitted with hard rubber-coated castors.

In order to mitigate the formation of areas with different colour due to the natural oxidation of wood, it is advisable to move the mats periodically, especially during the first period of parquet use.

Objects that unload their weight onto small floor surfaces can cause localised deformation of the wood (denting).

Some rubber shoe soles can cause marks on the floor surface that are difficult to remove.

Do not use scotch tape and adhesive materials on the surface as they can leave marks that are difficult to remove in the event of prolonged standing or high temperatures.

Excavated parts of the surface, such as brushing, sawing, etc., can show a slight darkening over time due to the accumulation of impurities within them. Proper maintenance of the floor significantly reduces this phenomenon.

Cleaning and maintenance of decorated oak parquet floors

Do not use tap water alone to wash the floors: in addition to not performing an effective cleaning action, the mineral residues it contains could settle on the surface, altering its shine.

Never use liquids containing significant acidic or basic concentrations, such as ammonia and bleach, which, due to their aggressiveness, can create indelible stains on the wood.

For proper cleaning and maintenance, use only the products intended for the specific parquet finish. We recommend using the products listed below for cleaning and protecting the decorated oak floor:

GREEN
(Mild detergent for cleaning floors with XPlus2, NaturPlus2, Oleonature and Invisible Touch finishes)
First remove loose dirt with a hoover fitted with a brush that does not damage the floor surface.
After shaking the bottle well, dilute half a glass (approx. 100 ml) of product in a bucket containing 5 l of water. Soak a cloth and, after wringing it out well, sweep it over the floor with a mop. It is recommended to use a soft cloth that does not leave any fiber residue as may be the case with some fabrics. Rinsing is not necessary.
In the case of very stubborn dirt, washing with double concentration is possible.
Never exceed this concentration and do not repeat this operation (washing with double concentration) too often, as this could lead to premature ageing of the surface.
1 l of product is sufficient to perform approximately 10 washes on a 100 m² surface.

VITANOVA
(Protective and regenerating liquid for wooden floors with Invisible Touch finish)

Vitanova is a protective and regenerating liquid whose regular use slows down the natural wear and tear caused by treading and restores a homogeneous appearance to the surface.

Before applying the product, it is advisable to thoroughly wash the floor with Green Listone Giordano® used in double dosage according to the instructions above.

For a correct application of Vitanova Listone Giordano® the room temperature must be above 15°C.

Shake the bottle well before use.

When the floor is dry, distribute the product on the floor, taking care to apply a thin and uniform layer, always making a movement parallel to the grain of the wood. Use a soft, lint-free cloth for application, pulled with a mop; surface homogenisation can also be carried out by hand (without the aid of a mop).
In the case of floors with brushed or open-pore surfaces, it is advisable not to exceed the quantity applied, as an excess of product penetrating into the grooves or pores may be difficult to remove. The appearance, when the product is applied, should be that of a slightly wet surface.

Information notes

CLIMATIC CONDITIONS
Wood is naturally subject to dimensional changes depending on the humidity and temperature of the environment. To avoid damage and undesirable effects, the room climate must always be kept within the prescribed limits: air temperature between 15°C and 30°C and relative air humidity between 45% and 65%. This range coincides with optimal conditions of well-being and health for humans as well.
Prolonged exposure to an excessively dry climate can result, even in a modern multilayer technology product, in the appearance of cracks between list and list. These cracks will tend to close again once the correct climatic conditions have been re-established. Conditions of excessive dryness or air humidity can generate even very high internal tensions in the wood, and in the most serious cases can lead in some strips to the appearance of fractures in the noble layer (due to the sliding of the interface between growth rings as a result of exceeding the elastic limit).
For this reason, it is important that the correct climatic conditions are guaranteed both during the laying phases and afterwards, even when the rooms are not inhabited. In some situations, particularly in the winter months, it may be necessary to use air humidification systems to ensure that the specified conditions are met.

In the case of heated floors, in addition to the temperature and air humidity requirements, the floor surface temperature limit must be respected, which, with the system in operation, must never exceed 27 °C.

CRACKS
Even if the recommended climatic conditions are observed, the appearance of a few small cracks in the noble layer over time is a natural and statistically unavoidable phenomenon.

HARDNESS
The woods used to manufacture Undici collections parquet flooring all have hardness characteristics that make them suitable for use as flooring. However, it is inevitable, even in the hardest woods, that stresses due to impacts or falling objects, as well as the application of high concentrated loads (stiletto heels, work ladders, etc.) may cause marks or dents in the surface.

PAINTS
Wear from footfall tends to change the gloss of the finish over time, particularly in areas subject to high traffic. This phenomenon is unavoidable but can be mitigated with proper maintenance. A change in gloss can also be caused by repeated vigorous rubbing, e.g. when trying to remove a stain.
