An innovative venue blending elegance and functionality
The Aspro project – wine, flavors, and relaxation – was born from the client’s request to create a space that would be elegant, functional, and distinctive all at once. The Paalko studio translated this vision with a bespoke approach, turning the venue into a dynamic and theatrical environment, designed to optimize operations while captivating visitors.
“The client asked us to create a space combining elegance, personality, and a strong functional component.” – Paalko
The role of wallpaper in the project
To enhance the venue’s identity, Paalko chose the Ken Scott Unconventional collection by Inkiostro Bianco, using wallpaper as an architectural element rather than a simple decorative surface.
- Rosa Nera on the veranda ceiling, creating an immersive, theatrical effect.
- Vanità Bloom Zigano on the exterior façade, a bold choice that gave the building a unique and unmistakable character.
For the guest rooms, wallpapers from the Flora collection by artist Enrico Borsani Colussi were selected. Here, nature served as the primary source of inspiration, interpreted through playful colors and geometric patterns that brought warmth to the interiors without overwhelming them.
“When we saw the vibrant colors and bold patterns of the collection, we immediately knew they were perfect for giving the space depth and dimension.” – Paalko
Materials and technical solutions
The project combined materials such as brushed brass, concrete, plaster, and textured finishes, alongside a striking five-meter-high tree sculpture and custom-made furnishings. Wallpaper was used throughout most of the venue, including the exterior façade, thanks to EQ·dekor fiberglass wallpaper, known for its durability and suitability for outdoor spaces.
“Thanks to Inkiostro Bianco’s technical support, we were able to bring decoration outdoors too, ensuring both durability and aesthetic continuity.” – Paalko
The result: a space with a story to tell
Aspro stands out for its strong personality and bold use of color, transforming functional spaces into impactful scenography. The client appreciated the stylistic coherence, and visitors immediately perceive the venue’s uniqueness—something that also positively affects its commercial success.
“For us, color is emotion, it’s storytelling. Clients are often hesitant, but when they see the final result, they understand how a bold use of decoration can enhance a space’s identity.” – Paalko
Beyond Aspro: new challenges with Inkiostro Bianco
The collaboration between Paalko and Inkiostro Bianco continues with Molo, a new venue in Salò overlooking Lake Garda, where the Domino wallpaper covers both the ceiling and a large, suspended chandelier, the beating heart of the space.
“Working with Inkiostro Bianco means going beyond: not just creating spaces, but true sensory experiences.” – Paalko
