Umberto Stagni was born in Bologna in 1972. After art studies and a diploma at the ISIA of Urbino, he began his professional experience as a freelancer at various communication agencies. In 2005 he created PastaVolante, a studio of his own where he devotes his work to graphic design and communication projects aimed at the use of illustration for ADV campaigns, web design, corporate identity, children's publishing, scientific illustrations, musical art-work, installations, staging and character-design. During these years he develops an elasticity of drawing that allows him to adapt various styles in multiple communication contexts; many are done with digital techniques but always related to his experience as a traditional draftsman. For him, digital is a magnificent tool with great interpretative potential of the sign: it is an expansion of his own pencil but without ever replacing it. In parallel, he has been a teacher of Graphic design, Communication, Illustration and Digital Color at various professional schools and associations in Bologna. The collaboration with Inkiostro Bianco was born proposing some of his subjects dedicated to pin-ups, interpreters rich in charm protagonists of stories always ironic and light. In the Sketchbook collection he was inspired by the iconography of the world of Japan. Today with InKids he renews himself thanks to a multifaceted sign between pencil and digital stroke, through bold colors and rich details. A special dedication to the world of children and young people.
